Spring just around the corner and St Donan’s Night drawing nearer there is still a chance for those of you considering attending to book (see details further below)

ITINERARY

On the Friday evening there is a preview performance of Noel Coward’s play Present Laughter at the Chichester festival theatre starting at 7.30 pm.  If any one would like to book tickets the number to ring is 01243 781312.

The Pallant House Gallery will be showing a well reviewed exhibition called Pop! Art in a Changing Britain.  The Gallery is open from 10 to 5pm on Friday and Saturday and 11 – 5 on Sunday.

The Council meeting will take place on Saturday morning 9.30 to 11.30.

At 12 noon we will travel to Arundel with a visit to Arundel Castle and/or Gardens after a light lunch.

There will be a non refundable booking fee of £70 per head to cover room reservation and deposit for St Donan’s day Dinner

  • 2 single rooms £137.50 per night b&b
  • 8 double rooms £167.50 per night b&b
  • 2 Superior doubles £192.50 per night b&b

NB  – There is a small lift in the hotel, but anyone who is disabled should mention this when booking in order to secure a suitable room

Rooms subject to availability.  The hotel has limited parking on a first come first served basis.  There is a municipal car park near the hotel (Chichester Festival Theatre) approximate cost £5 per day

Dinner

St Donan’s day Dinner menu £50 per head to include welcome prosecco or beer or soft drink and 1/2 bottle of wine with dinner

  • Starters: Cured beef carpaccio, tian of crab and avocado, or avocado, tomato and pinenut salad.
  • Main course: Slow braised shin of beef, Herb crusted cod, or Risotto primavera
  • Desserts: Iced honey and hazelnut parfait, apple tarte tatin, or cheese and biscuits

There is a Travelodge Central Chichester within walking distance of the Harbour Hotel if anyone wants a cheaper option

For people with their own transport the Goodwood Hotel on the Goodwood estate outside Chichester offers a high degree of comfort.

Excursions

An outing to Arundel will be arranged for late Saturday morning. Prior to this members may wish to visit Chichester Cathedral or the Pallant House Art Gallery
