The 2014 St Donan’s Day weekend was held in London over the 11th to 13 th April. The weekend’s proceedings centred around a formal black tie dinner at the Keeper’s House restaurant in the Royal Academy on Piccadilly. The Keeper’s House is a sideways extension of the grand urban palace, Burlington House and was built over 140 years ago as the grace and favour residence for the Academy’s keeper. However, it has been recently renovated and opened in September 2013 to provide a social space for artists and the “art curious”. The dinner was held in a private room including champagne beforehand and a sumptuous three course meal with coffee and wine. The weekend started with a two course dinner at the Royal Thames Yacht Club (RTYC) in Knightsbridge on the Friday. The trust and council meetings were also held in the RTYC on the Saturday morning. Events concluded with a tour of the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms in Whitehall on the Sunday morning.
